MOA with the National Commission on Indigenous Peoples

The National Commission on Indigenous Peoples (NCIP) is the agency of the national government of the Philippines that is responsible for protecting the rights of the indigenous peoples of the Philippines. The good news is Kabisig ng Kalahi has just signed a Memorandum of Agreement with NCIP Chief Executive Allen A. Capuyan.

We will now be able to help one of the most marginalized segments in the Philippines, our Indigenous People. We hope to address hunger, livelihood and climate change issues through our Food Share Program.

There was positive feedback from our earlier project in Sitio Bato Illi, Occidental Mindoro in partnership with LGU Vice Mayor Rod Agas and Mangyan Tribal Leaders. The sponsor was HawaKapwa Foundation and helping in the enrichment activities was Giving Tuesday, an international organization with an active local counterpart.

That project has led to this opportunity. It marks the beginning of a special partnership with our Indigenous People.
